Newly sanded and polished floor deserves simple maintenance to make it last for years.

You should your floor no more than once per week (and I would suggest once a fortnight unless the area is heavily used i.e. hallway). To achieve best looks and improve longetivity, a combination of mopping, cleaning with appropriate maintenance products and buffing should be used.

Start by mopping the floor to remove soilage (or vacuum if dusty) however please ensure that you don't use too much water as this will cause damage in the long run.  When the soilage had been removed, mop over again with an appropriate maintenance product - I know this sounds tedious, and that you can use the maintainer to clean the floor in one stage instead of as described above, but you'll get better results this way.  My recommendation for maintenance product is Bona or Osmo as they give best results.

When the floor is just about dry, you can finish by buffing over with your floor polisher.  You should then find that your floor will resume its great looks!
